KMS is working extensively in Kangra and Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh. The focus of its operations is on the three major mountain ecosystems- Higher Himalayas, Middle Himalayas and Lower Himalayas. These ecosystems have prominent variations on geographical, cultural and climatic basis. Apart from this smaller ecosystems are prevalent in each of the above ecosystems.
KMS works with women especially Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Below Poverty Line
The basic Principles of our work are
- Active Participation of women at all stages in all development interventions.
- Empowerment of community members by building strong people’s institutions so that they could to identify their development problems and seek solutions on their own.
- Complete accountability to the community members.
